Kupa'a Kennels
Parson Russell Terriers & Border Terriers
Kupa'a Kennels was established in 1981, breeding, training and showing American Staffordshire Terriers. In 1997, I saw my first Jack Russell Terrier and after researching the breed, I loved everything about them. They had all the spunk of the Am Staff, in a much smaller size. I have since discovered that the size of the breed is very misleading as they think they are much larger than they actually are. I purchased my first Jack, a puddin' from Australia, that forever endeared me to the breed. Small, feisty, active, always looking for something to do, but when he looked at me with those big brown eyes, my heart would melt. I was hooked! I immediately began looking for an excellent quality pair to bring in to show and begin a breeding program. I was lucky enough to meet Mary Strom (Snow Wind Farms) who has had great success with this little white dog. She has imported dogs from some of the top kennels in England and consistently produced dogs that performed well in the ring and in performance events. Mary agreed to send me several dogs from her program and now our Parson Russell Terriers, several of our original American Staffordshire Terriers (all spayed/neutered champions), and soon, our Border Terrier, enjoy life in sunny Hawaii, on the Big Island. We have tried to bring in the best foundation stock we could and strive to improve the breed while living with these dogs as part of our family.
